Title doesn’t sum it up the best, but the issue is the appointed mayor revoking gun licences on jobs that spawn with both a licence and weapon. Happening a lot more recently, multiple times a day and seems like it’s only done to make money from selling licenses back to players or so PD can make an easy arrest on jobs that they know spawn with weapons.

For example, when the gun licence is revoked for the Hitman job you’re still stuck with the Thompson Contender gun you spawn with and this gun can’t be dropped or holstered so when you’re weapon checked it’s an instant arrest and you can’t do anything to stop the arrest because you can’t kos for weapon checking and not enough time to warn before being arrested. The only solution is to pay for a license that you spawned with (if you’re not killed on sight for going into PD as hitman) or switch to a different job and back again.

I want to suggest a few possible solutions.

  1. Prevent gun licences being revoked from jobs that spawn with a license and weapon (via rules or otherwise). Or require a valid RP reason to revoke a license, which could be abused as hitmen could have their license revoked for doing hits.

  2. Make the job-specific weapons droppable/able to be destroyed. (Holster could be abused as you could then get multiple guns in your inventory easily). Then if a licence is revoked you can dump/destroy your weapon.

  3. Treat job-specific weapons as perma weapons so they don’t show up as illegal during weapon checks.

  4. Allow certain jobs to KOS for weapon checks. Probably not the best but I’m just throwing out ideas and it kind of makes RP sense that a Hitman/criminal wouldn’t let a cop weapon check them knowing that they’re armed.

Sick of playing hitman just to have my license revoked and a random cop arrest me on sight because they know I have a gun I can’t drop or holster and it ruins RP to have to switch to a different job and back to get around this. Wouldn’t be an issue if it was a rare occurrence but it’s happened about ten times just today and with different mayors. I know I’m specifically talking about Hitmen here but I’m sure this is an issue for other jobs with licenses/undroppable weapons also.

This is already a darkrp default, Job assigned weapons are not shown on weapon checkers

Yes they are…. if you play a police class and check a base hitman, their sniper will show. Same for the red dorito gang bosses and the mafia boss.

They must be appearing on weapon checkers because yesterday cops searched me multiple times (even with a license) and tried to arrest me when it’s the only gun I had, I assume it appeared as a legal/licensed weapon and they didn’t read properly. Also, it can be confiscated with the weapon checker but perma weapons can’t, if it didn’t appear I wouldn’t be getting arrested whenever the mayor pulls my license randomly.

I also believe we should envoke more rules in to taking away licenses, demotions and similar actions.

This would be VERY easily exploited imo, maybe just make it so once you get a license it cant be revoked until you get arrested or leave?

the reason this is an issue is because the weapons aren’t actually default weapons for the jobs. you need 12 (or 24, i forget) hours of playtime to spawn with the weapons, and when you have that amount of playtime, the weapons are just given to you when you spawn, instead of them being default job weapons.
